‘The visit of Armenian and Azeri delegates to Stepanakert, Shushi, Baku, and Yerevan is a positive step.’

This was announced today by Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian, who expressed hope that it will have a continuation.

As Vartan Oskanian informed, the idea was born in Moscow, as a result of the dialogues between the Armenian and Azeri Ambassadors to Russia.

They became the authors of the initiative.

As Oskanian assured, the Ambassadors had discussed the idea for a long time; the Leaders of the two countries were aware about it.

The Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan finally approved the idea during the meeting in Saint Petersburg.

“Currently one of the obstacles for the negotiations is the absence of confidence between Armenians and Azeris. It is necessary to recover it. I see it in this context and I highly appreciate that such representatives of intelligentsia united and visited Stepanakert, Shushi, Yerevan, and Baku.”
